The FMS is a screening tool that can be used to determine whether a person is ready to return to sport and also to determine if there are any impairments to certain movements and/or movement patterns. The test consists of seven different movements and each movement is scored from 0 to 3. A pass score for the test is 14 and above with 14 being average. If there are any zeros scored on any movement the client has an injury and will not receive a pass score. The assessment is also a very good tool to prescribe exercises to correct any of the movement patterns. All the movements are good foundational movements for sport.
